Selectmen's Meeting Minutes, 04/16/2008
Minutes of Meeting – April 16, 2008; meeting called to order at 5:30 pm.  
Present:  S Pavlosky; L. Messana; JH Pumphrey; RT Akroyd; RN Sandlin.

MOTION by RTA, seconded by JHP to accept the Minutes of April 2 as presented.  5/0 vote.

MOTION by JHP, seconded by LM to open the public hearing on an A/A restaurant license request from Alta Restaurant.  5/0 vote.  The new owners stated that the layout will be very similar to what NAPA had.  MOTION by RTA, seconded by JHP to close the hearing.  5/0 vote.  MOTION by RTA, seconded by JHP to grant an A/A restaurant license to Ferelle, LLC d/b/a Alta Restaurant & Wine Bar located at 34 Church Street.  5/0 vote.

MOTION by RTA, seconded by JHP to approve the change of manager at WLS Restaurant Concepts, Inc., d/b/a Arizona Pizza from William Stevens to Gina Kirchner.  5/0 vote.

MOTION by JHP, seconded by RTA to grant a one-day A/A license to Eastover Resort for 4/26 from 3pm-1am at Tally-Ho.  5/0 vote.  MOTION by JHP, seconded by LM to grant a one-day A/A license to Big Brother Big Sisters of Berkshire County for 5/21 from 5pm-1am at Eastover Resort.  5/0 vote.  MOTION by JHP, seconded by RTA to grant a one-day A/A license to Woodrow Witter for 4/18 and 4/19 from 8pm-2am at Eastover Resort.  5/0 vote.  

MOTION by JHP, seconded by SP to proclaim 6/29 as Beatles Day in Lenox.  5/0 vote.

MOTION by JHP, seconded by SP to approve the Town’s participation in the Tri-Town Wellness pilot grant program and to authorize the TM to sign the final Memorandum of Understanding.  5/0 vote.

MOTION by RTA, seconded by SP to accept the resignation of Andrea Winter from the Historical Commission and asked anyone interested in filling the vacancy to send a letter of interest to the Selectmen’s Office.  5/0 vote.  MED to send letter of thanks for service to Town.

Environmental Update:  The TM stated that the group has been working on four primary projects; the New England Green Start program through National Grid; a small grant from the MA Climate Action Network to fund seminars on the Low Carbon Diet; there will be a Green Living Fair on May 3; and a working subgroup of builders, architects and building inspectors have been working together on a proposal to implement new standards for “green” construction in Lenox.

The Board went through the various warrant articles to determine who will be reading which articles at the Town Meeting.

Old/New Business:  LM stated that the STM held on 4/15 was one of the better ones.  People had done their homework and the Planning Board was extremely prepared.  She thanked Tim Sheehan for his recent work with a scam on the local churches.  She announced that the Village Green Up Day is scheduled for May 17 and asked for permission to hang a banner.  MOTION by JHP, seconded by SP to grant permission for a banner from the 11th to the 17th.  5/0 vote.  SP asked when the dedication of Liston Park is scheduled and brought up the EPA forum on the GE clean-up of the river.  RNS asked if the vacancies and election cycle could be placed on the web site.
